Nollywood Movies Awards Debuts

For those who have done well in their work, it is necessary that they are celebrated.

You will recall that one problem faced in the movie industry in Nigeria is the way those who have laboured hard to make the industry what it is today are not celebrated.

Through the lifetime of veteran actor, Gringory, he was not celebrated. Same as others who have passed away.

Filling this gap is the debut of Nollywood Movies Awards, which is expected to hold this summer.

According to the organizer of the awards, NMA will will be celebrating Excellence, Outstanding Achievements and Diversity in the industry.

The Awards will celebrate both English and Indigenous talents with a Nominees' Party on Saturday 5th May 2012 at Oriental hotel, Lagos.

The main Awards Ceremony will hold on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Civic Centre, Lagos.

About 22 categories have been created to include acting, pre and post production, which will help develop the industry.

Nollywood Movies is a 24 hour movie channel on the SKY platform channel 329 based in the United Kingdom that specializes in broadcasting movies from the Nigerian movie industry. The Channel was launched in January 2008.
